Contacts / Labor Tab – Companies

The Contacts / Labor tab lists all contacts associated with the company. There are two sections on this page:

  • Contacts — The top section of the page lists contacts that have been manually added to this page. Any contact with the company that it is beneficial to track can be listed in this section. Common examples include purchasing agents, recruiters and accounts payable contacts. Since these records are manually added to this page, they can be modified or removed.

  • Labor / Contractors — The second section of the page lists existing labor resources and contractors that are associated with the company. All labor resource records that have this company listed in the Labor Resource Company field on the Labor Details page will be displayed. These records are read-only; they cannot be edited or removed.

Note:

If you selected the Used as a Labor Resource? check box on the Company Details tab, default labor records are created and displayed for each repair center in your organization. These labor resource records, which were created for use in assigning work orders, have the company name as the labor / contractor name. A default craft is also assigned. This default craft is the first craft detected for the given repair center; however, the craft can be modified.

ClosedContacts List

Any contact with the company that it is beneficial to track can be listed in the Contacts section of the Contacts / Labor page. Common examples include purchasing agents, recruiters, and accounts payable contacts. Since these records are manually added to this page, they can be modified or removed.

Most contact records that are manually added to this page are records maintained in the Contacts module. Since labor records associated with this company—such as contractors with this company listed in the Company field on the Labor Details tab—are automatically displayed in the Labor / Contracts area of the page, this type of record is not typically added to the upper Contacts section.

However, in some instances, you may want to add a labor resource that is not primarily associated with this company. For example, you might want to list the employee in your organization that is the primary contact for this company, even though that employee is not directly associated with the company.
